The Quintessential Voice of the American Racing Scene
Crafty Kate
With a vibrant career that stretches back through the adrenaline-fueled lanes of the USA’s most iconic race tracks, I, Crafty Kate, have become a distinguished figure in the heart of the automotive industry.
My journey began amidst the roaring engines and speeding vehicles, where I took on the role of a spokesmodel, engaging with enthusiasts and professionals alike at numerous trade shows.
My path has seen me wear many hats, from a promotional expert on the road to sharing the spotlight with legends like George “The Bushmaster” and the notorious original Christine Pro Mod through the exhilarating 90s. My extensive experience also includes representing Rods West, a premier custom Gasser builder based in Ridgecrest, California—affectionately known as Gasser Haven.
Specializing in crafting bespoke Gassers filled with an abundance of Willys parts, Rods West has been my home and where I’ve flourished as a promoter of car shows and race cars. I’ve had the honor of attending the birthday parties of the legendary Ed Iskenderian since his 89th birthday, and promoting his 100th, 101st, 102nd, and 103rd birthdays. Alongside these celebrations, I’ve also organized car shows that attract enthusiasts from all corners. Ed Iskenderian, a legendary figure in the automotive world, has been a significant inspiration, and celebrating his milestones has been a highlight of my career.
A passion project close to my heart is the annual fundraiser car show I organize in Inyokern, a town revered for its historical drag strip. This event not only pays homage to the legacy of racing in the area but also supports a cause dear to me—the Ridgecrest Animal Shelter. Through this initiative, we embody the spirit of community, working tirelessly as volunteers to make a difference, always in search of generous sponsors for our goody bags.
Although currently sidelined from racing due to an injury, my spirit remains unbroken, and my passion for the race track undimmed. I eagerly anticipate the day I can return to the races, behind the wheel of my beloved Gasser, sharing the excitement and camaraderie with fellow racing aficionados.
Through a career defined by dedication and a love for the automotive world, I’ve not only contributed to the industry but also fostered a community united by speed, innovation, and philanthropy.
I am Crafty Kate, and this is my continuing story—a tale of speed, service, and the unbreakable bond between cars and their champions.
